4 Legal Basis of PPEU
|EGP||2.1 Through the present statutes the Full Members set up an international non profit association (AISBL), regulated by the dispositions of Title III of the Belgian law of 27 June 1921 on non-profit associations (ASBL), international non-profit associations (AISBL) and foundations.

Within one month of announcement of the statutes, a list must be deposited with the registry of the civil court for the place where the association is established, recording the surnames, forenames, place of residence and nationality of all the full members of the association in alphabetical order.
The list shall be updated every year by recording membership changes by name in alphabetical order. Anyone may inspect such lists free of charge.
Save in the cases provided for in Articles 8, 12 and 20 of the Law of 27 June 1921, the meeting may legitimately consider items not announced on the agenda, provided that all members of the general meeting are present and/or represented and so agree at the meeting by a simple majority vote.
The general assembly may validly decide to dissolve the association or amend the statutes only in accordance with the provisions of Articles 8 and 20 of the Law of 27 June 1921.
Any amendment of the statutes must be deposited with the registry of the commercial court and published in the Annex to the Belgian State Gazette.
This shall also apply to the appointment, resignation or dismissal of a director.
The Bureau shall ensure that the annual accounts and the other documents referred to in the Law on Not-for-profit Associations are deposited within thirty (30) days of approval at the Registry of the Court of First Instance or, if the law so requires, the National Bank of Belgium.
Except in the event of judicial dissolution and automatic dissolution due to the requirements of the law, the association may be prematurely dissolved only by a decision of the general assembly acting in accordance with Article 20 of the Law on Not-for-profit Associations.
All matters not expressly provided for or regulated in these statutes shall be governed by the Act of 27 June 1921 or legislation replacing that Act after the foundation of the association, general legislation, the internal rules and relevant practice.
|PES||2.1. Article 191 of the Treaty establishing the European Community recognises that, “political parties at European level are important as a factor for integration within the Union. They contribute to forming a European awareness and to expressing the political will of the citizens of the Union.”
2.2. The PES carries out its activities, pursues its aims and is organised and financed in conformity with the Regulation (EC) n° 2004/2003 of the Europe an Parliament and Council of 4 November
2003 on the regulations governing political parties at European level and the rules regarding their funding.
2.3. The association is governed by Heading III of the Belgian law of 27 June 1921 on not-for-profit associations, international not-for-profit associations or foundations.
2.4. Standing orders may be adopted by the Presidency. If Standing orders are adopted, they shall be sent to all the members and shall be binding for all members.
|EUD||The EU Democrats, hereafter called “the Association,” is an international non-profit association of political organisations, movements and individuals at the European level, and is registered in Denmark as a non-profit organisation.

|ELDR||An international non-profit association is hereby incorporated under the laws of Belgium.
The Association is governed by the Belgian Act of 27 June 1921, as amended by the Act of 2 May 2002, (the “Act”).
|EDP||Council represents the association in all judicial and extra judicial acts. Represented by the President(s), it acts as plaintiff or defendant in all the judicial actions and decides whether or not to use recourse.
For the acts that bind the association, other than those of daily management, the Council is represented at least by one special delegate, by the President(s), who need not justify him\her\themselves of his\her\their own powers with regard to third persons.
The President(s) will have the faculty of special delegate.
|EPP||The association is governed by title III of the law of 27 June 1921 on the non-profit associations, the foundations and the international non-profit associations.
|Newropeans||A non-profit association of Dutch law is established between the undersigned and those adhering to these statutes.
|PPI||The association is not for profit.
