2012 European Pirates Statutes Conference at Barcelona

On this page you will find all updated information for the European Pirates Conference at Barcelona on the 1st-2nd September 2012.

Please note that this Conference will be focused on discussing the European Pirates statutes, no other general discussions will take place.

If you are already registered, any changes will be sent to the email address you provided.

Purpose

This will be a prefounding meeting focused on the statutes. It will not be the European Pirates Founding Conference.

The work group idea was to make sure that, if an early Founding Conference at the end of January is desired by the participating countries, this will be possible without the impediment that the statutes still have to be discussed or ratified, something that will presumably take a long time.

In Aarau and the following Mumble meetings it was proposed that the statutes work group would prepare several statutes drafts and that the final version would be voted in the 1st-2nd of September by the delegates, so that the General Assemblies of the parties would have time to ratify the statutes on the following months before the European Pirates founding meeting.

Since the proposal is that the European Pirates statutes are defined at this meeting, it is very important to have as many delegates as possible in this conference. If your party is interested in the European Pirates but it has no funds to send a delegate to the Conference let us know and we will try to find a sponsoring pirate.

Registration

To register for the Conference, just fill and send the form that you can find at the registration web page.

Please note that due to space limitations, and to ensure representation from all pirate parties, preference will be given to official delegates.

Registration is open until 26th August 2012 (later registration cannot be guaranteed).

There will be a small registration fee to cover some expenses to be paid in cash on site (10 EUR). This fee will include Saturday's lunch.

Questions regarding Conference organisation can be sent to:
partit (at) pirata.cat

Sponsoring

Since we find very important that all parties are represented regardless of their available funds, we have organised the possibility that individual pirates sponsor delegates that don't have the means to pay for the trip.

Please, just indicate in the registration form that you request sponsoring or that you are willing to sponsor another pirate, as well as the particular amount, and we will mutually provide the sponsor and the sponsored pirate their contact email so they can agree and make any necessary arrangements.

Agenda

Main Sessions will be held at the Citilabi premises on Saturday, and Sunday morning, to ensure that votings are carried out with the maximum number of delegates. Sunday afternoon talks will be held at the Anaglifos Art Faktory premises.

This is a draft schedule for the conference in Barcelona on the 1st-2nd of September.

Remember that since the end of August and beginning of September is typically when most people's holidays end, the 1st and 2nd weekend of September will be a very busy one. Therefore, we recommend that you book your trip as soon as possible to avoid expensive flights.

Accommodation

Couch surfing

We will try to find a couch surfing host for all pirates that ask for it. However, since we can not guarantee a couch/bed for everyone, we recommend that you register as soon as possible to make sure we can find you one.

Free accommodation is guaranteed and will be available for all pirates that bring their own sleeping bag and mat and don't mind sleeping on the floor. Please let us know during registration so we can arrange it.
