Invitation to the European Pirate Party 12th Council meeting

Dear Pirate Parties,

It is my pleasure to formally invite you all to the next European Pirate Party Council meeting, that will take part on Sunday, April 16th, in Strasbourg, France. The Council meeting will start at 10:00 CEST, and is expected to continue for the rest of the day, with a break for lunch. It will be part of a Weekend long Pirate Weekend Conference in Strasbourg, hosted by our French Pirate Party. You will find some additional information about the Pirate Weekend at the end of this email.

The Council meeting will be organised in Hybrid form. It will mainly take place at a venue called Shadok in Strasbourg. This venue, while also thematically fitting for the pirates, has been selected to ensure that we can welcome any pirate wanting to participate in the meeting. Agenda

The draft agenda for the Council meeting can be found here:12th_council_meeting_draft_agenda. If you have additional proposals for the agenda please let us know, by email to board@european-pirateparty.eu, so that we can add them. Please bear in mind that proposals to change the statutes need to be submitted to the board no later than March 15th, at 20:00 CET, for the board to be able to send it out to the members in accordance with article 25 in the statutes regulating proposed changes to the statutes.

Delegates

In line with our statutes every member party can send a certain number of offical delegates to our Council meetings. These have the rights to speak and vote on behalf of the member party. You can find a list of the number of delegates and votes for each member party here: ppeu:members. Please bear in mind that to be recogniced as a delegate your party need to send an email to the board detailing who is representing the party as official delegates. It will also be possible for delegates to participate remotedly. Details about the remote participation will be sent closer to the event.

Motions

All member parties are welcome to submit proposals/motions to the Council meeting. These shall be sent by email to board@european-pirateparty.eu. They will need to be submitted no later than March 15th to be certain to be included in the agenda. Any proposal received by the board will be presented on the wiki in time for the meeting.

Nominations

All member parties are welcome to propose candidates for the elections that will take place at the Council meeting. these nominations shall be sent by email to board@european-pirateparty.eu. Dedline for nominations is March 15th. Any nominations received by the board will be presented on the wiki in time for the meeting.

Pirate Weekend

In addition to the Council meeting taking place on Sunday 16th of April, we are planning activities in Strasbourg together with our french hosts from Friday 14th of April to Sunday 17th of April.

CEEP Conference, 15th of April

Saturday 15th of April will be focusing on the work on our Common European Election Program (CEEP) for the 2024 European elections. This conference will be based on the work with a draft that is currently ongoing on our Discourse. Sponsored visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, 17th of April

The Monday will then feature a sponsored visit to the European Parliament premises in Strasbourg, as well as some thematic workshops. Those participating in this Visitors Group will be eligible to get paid accomodation for the weekend, and travel reimbursements for their travel to Strasbourg.
