update about the European Pirate Party 12th Council meeting

This invitation was sent to the PPEU mailinglist 20/03/2023

Dear Pirates,

We are getting closer to our Council meeting, and here is an update with some additional information.

The agenda of the meeting has been updated by the board. You can find the updated version here: https://wiki.ppeu.net/doku.php?id=12th_council_meeting_draft_agenda. There's a few things tied to the agenda that I would like to point out in particular:

2022 Discharge and 2023 budget
The board will prepare the relevant documents at the next board meeting, taking place on March 29th, and circulate before the meeting

Elections of the Board and Code of Conduct Council
The deadline for nominations are now closed, and you can find the nominations submitted before deadline presented here: https://wiki.ppeu.net/doku.php?id=12th_council_meeting:board_nominations and here: https://wiki.ppeu.net/doku.php?id=12th_council_meeting:cocc_nominations. Please note that nominations submitted after the deadline can still be considered if the meeting fails to elect someone among the people nominated before the deadline. So don't hesitate to still send any nominations you might have.

Election of Lay Auditors
It appears that we have, for a while, omitted to elect one or more lay auditors, that we are supposed to elect according to the statutes. We will rectify this at this meeting, and as there is no deadline for nominations to this positions we would encourage all members to submit suitable candidates. The list of nominated people can be found here: https://wiki.ppeu.net/doku.php?id=12th_council_meeting:auditor_nominations

Proposals for changing our statutes
Perhaps the most important discussion at this meeting will be on the proposal to change our statutes to allow political parties without “Pirate” in their name to become full members of our organisation. This was already proposed at the last Council meeting, but there we failed to reach the required quorum to be able to decide on the matter. Please read the proposal here: https://wiki.ppeu.net/doku.php?id=motion_for_changes_to_the_statutes_to_allow_non_pirate_party_parties_as_full_members_of_the_association There was no other proposals for changes to the statutes submitted before the deadline to this meating.

Updates on the European Pirate Party Weekend
Our french hosts are in the process of preparing a booklet with practical information about the whole Weekend. I hope it will be shared on the mailinglist at some point this week.

Monday 17th Workshop and visit to the European Parliament
The Pirate delegation is organising a workshop on campaigning and on the chatcontrol legislation on Monday 17th of April inside the European Parliament.
