Invitation to the European Pirate Party 13th Council meeting

This a draft. The final invitation is scheduled to be sent to the members 06/06/2023

Dear Pirate Parties,

It is my pleasure to formally invite you to the 13th European Pirate Party Council meeting. This meeting will take place online, and be held on July 8th. Starting time will be 09:30 CEST, and will continue for the rest of the day, with a break for lunch between 12:30-13:30. As we have done for the last couple of meetings we will use Jitsi for the meeting.

All information regarding the meeting, including the Agenda, can be found on our wiki.

There will be two main phases of this meeting. Before lunch we will discuss and decide on the 2022 Annual Accounts, 2023 Budget, and the Discharge of the previous board. This was all postponed at the last meeting, due to insufficient documentation. But this time we will have all the relevant documentation on the wiki within the next couple of days.

After lunch we will spend the rest of the meeting on deciding on the Commmon European Election Program (CEEP) for the 2024 European Elections, and on a Post election Strategy, detailing how we plan to work together in the European Parliament once we have a new, and hopefully bigger, Pirate Delegation elected.

CEEP

As you know, we have worked since the beginning of the year on a draft for the 2024 Common European Election Programme on our Discourse and at a full day workshop tied to our last Council meeting. We have done everything in our powers to involve all Member Parties in this process. Based on the input of various working groups, the board will decide on a final draft of the CEEP to be presented to the Member Parties on June 26. The Member parties will then have until July 1st to submit Counter-proposals/amendments to the Board proposal, so that this Council meeting can make the final decision on the CEEP.

Many chapters have already been finalised on Discourse, so please feel free to have look there now even before the 26th June. This should allow you more time to draft any potential changes, or to get involved directly on Discourse, where you can still discuss changes to be included in the final Board proposal. It would be extra helpful if you could have a look at how to move forward with those chapters that are still not closed.

For more information you can also contact Mia and Veronika who are looking after the finalisation process.

Delegates

In line with our statutes every Member Party can send a certain number of offical Delegates to our Council meetings. These have the rights to speak and vote on behalf of the member party. You can find a list of the number of delegates and votes for each Member Party here: ppeu:members. Please bear in mind that to be recogniced as a Delegate your party need to send an email to the board detailing who is representing the party as official Delegate(s).

Additions to the Agenda

All member parties are welcome to submit additional proposals to the Council meeting. These proposals shall be sent to board@european-pirateparty.eu. Proposals to change the statutes need to be submitted to the board no later than June 10th at 09:30 CEST, including exact wording on any proposed changes. Any other proposal should be submitted to the board before June 25th to be sure to be included in the final agenda. Proposals received by the board will be presented on the wiki in time for the meeting.

Additional information

Additional information regarding the Council meeting will be provided on our wiki when it is available. So please keep an eye on this page.

On behalf of the European Pirate Party Board,

Mikulas Peksa,
Chairperson
