Invitation to the European Pirate Party 15th Council meeting

This invitation was sent to the members 20/12/2023

Dear Pirate Parties,

It is my pleasure to formally invite you all to the next European Pirate Party Council meeting, that will take place on January 27th, in Hesperange, Luxembourg. The Council meeting will start at 12:30 and continue for the rest of the day. It will be followed by an EU election event on the 28th, where we present our lead candidates and the Common European Election Program, so please come to Luxembourg for the whole Weekend! To ensure that those unable to travel can still participate, the Council meeting will be organised in hybrid form. This is Council meeting will be our last before the European elections, so I hope to see a huge turnout! We will not only elect a new board for the European Pirates during the meeting, but also elect our Lead Candidates for the upcoming European Elections. Agenda
The draft agenda for the Council meeting can be found here: https://discourse.european-pirateparty.eu/t/15th-council-meeting-agenda/581 All member parties are welcome to submit proposals/motions to the Council meeting to be added to the agenda. These shall include “Item for the agenda for the 15th Council meeting” in their title, and can be posted in the 15th Council meeting category on Discourse: https://discourse.european-pirateparty.eu/c/councilmeetings/15th-council-meeting. If you are unable to connect to Discourse, an email sent to board@european-pirateparty.eu will also work. Please bear in mind that proposals to change the statutes need to be submitted to the board no later than December 26th, for the board to be able to send it out to the members in accordance with article 25 in the statutes, that regulates proposals for changes to the statutes.

Delegates
In line with our statutes every member party can send a certain number of official delegates to our Council meetings. These have the rights to speak and vote on behalf of the member party. You can find a list of the number of delegates and votes for each member party here: https://wiki.ppeu.net/doku.php?id=ppeu:members Please bear in mind that to be recognized as a delegate your party need to send an email to the board detailing who is representing the party as official delegates. It will also be possible for delegates to participate remotely. Details about the remote participation will be sent closer to the event.

Nominations
All member parties are welcome to propose candidates for the elections that will take place at the Council meeting. Nominations can be posted in the corresponding thread on Discourse. Nominations can also be sent by email to board@european-pirateparty.eu. Deadline for nominations to the Board and the Code of Conduct Council is 2023-12-27. Deadline for nominations for Lead Candidates for the European Elections is 2024-01-20.
